On the afternoon of January 22, 2019, the Global Health Forum of Boao Forum for Asia (GHF) Japan Promotion Event was held at Hotel Okura in Tokyo, Japan. Li Baodong, Secretary General of the Forum, Dr. Margaret Chan Fung Fu-chun, member of BFA Council of Advisors and President of GHF, Cheng Yonghua, Chinese Ambassador to Japan and about 200 representatives of the Japanese health industry attended the event.

Secretary General Li Baodong said that while Boao Forum for Asia is committed to promoting regional cooperation in Asia and global common development, it also pays close attention to major issues related to people's livelihoods, actively participates in exchanges and discussions in the field of global health, aiming to build a global platform for dialogue and cooperation in the field of health. President Margaret Chan introduced the organization and preparation of the first conference of the Global Health Forum of Boao Forum for Asia. She expressed her hope that all sectors in Japan would actively participate in the activities of the conference and work together to promote the development and growth of the health industry in Asia and around the world.

The inaugural conference will be held in Qingdao, Shandong Province, China, from June 11 to 12, 2019, jointly organized by Boao Forum for Asia, the People's Government of Shandong Province and the World Health Organization. Centered on the theme of "Health for All" with its slogan of "Health Beyond Health -- In the Year of Sustainable Development 2030", GHF will discuss hotly-debated issues in health-related areas in the hope of promoting global cooperation, collecting insight and building a healthy future for humankind.
