On Nov. 29-30, Dr. Margaret Chan Fung Fu-chun, member of BFA Council of Advisors and President of Global Health Forum of Boao Forum for Asia (hereinafter referred to as GHF), hosted an expert meeting in Beijing to seek inputs on matters related to the GHF. Renowned experts in the field of global public health from the World Health Organization, Chinese Academy of Engineering, National Center for Global Health and Medicine of Japan, Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine of the University of Hong Kong and Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation were present to share their insights.
Dr. Margaret Chan introduced GHF at the conference. She expressed that, considering health issues and economic development are closely connected, Boao Forum for Asia decides to leverage its own characteristics and strengths to set up the Global Health Forum of Boao Forum for Asia and the first Conference of GHF is scheduled in mid-June 2019.
Experts in the meeting stood behind Boao Forum for Asia to hold GHF. They took a deep dive into and reached a consensus on the theme, the sub-topics and guests of the conference from different perspectives. They unanimously agreed to make the GHF a comprehensive platform for high-level dialogues and practical cooperation in the health field, linking governments, the business community and academia to contribute to the development of global health.
