On June 2, Li Bin, vice-chairwoman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee, delivered a keynote speech at the opening of the 2nd Global Health Forum of Boao Forum for Asia, entitled “Strengthening global efforts to fight the COVID-19 pandemic and building a global community of health for all”.

Li said that people's health is the foundation for the progress of civilization and an important indicator of a country's prosperity. China has always attached great importance to the development of its health system, actively implemented the strategy of Healthy China, and provided all-round and full-cycle support for its people. Apart from taking effective measures to address the domestic COVID-19 situation, China has also offered tangible support for the fight against the virus worldwide and for building a global community of health for all.

Li pointed out that international cooperation is the only way to overcome hardships like this in the age of globalization. Countries around the world should collaborate to enhance the global public health system, stick to a multilateral approach to global health governance, and make basic medical services more equal and accessible.
