What’s onOn December 23, the press conference of Tsinghua Healthy Urban Health and Environment Index 2021, jointly organized by the Vanke School of Public Health and Health of Tsinghua University, Institute for Healthy China of Tsinghua University and Institute for China Sustainable Urbanization of Tsinghua University, was successfully held. Luan Xin, Deputy Mayor of Qingdao, was invited as the only representative from northern cities to share the experience in building healthy city online, and made a speech wihth the theme of "Taking people's health as the center of Qingdao City's efforts to promote healthy city building". The conference also invited Tu Zhi, Deputy Secretary General of Chengdu Municipal Government, and Chen Honghui, Deputy Mayor of Wuhan, to share their experience in building healthy city.

Since the official launch of the "Tsinghua Urban Health and Environment Index" third-party evaluation in August 2020, the research team has built an objective and scientific evaluation system, compiled and released several reports based on "big health + big data", which has gained wide attention from the society. This year, the research team took a more comprehensive assessment with advanced technologies and completed "Tsinghua Urban Health and Environment Index 2021", covering the provinces nationwide except Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, and providing more comprehensive research and intellectual support for "Health in All Policies".
Luan Xin, Deputy Mayor of Qingdao
Vice Mayor Luan Xin introduced that Qingdao attaches great importance to the healthy city building. In order to achieve the goals of Healthy China Initiative and promote the coordinated development of healthy people, healthy environment and healthy society, and to promote the building of "Healthy Qingdao", Qingdao Municipal Government has been actively implementing the "Healthy City Action" through four important focuses: " to ensure the health of citizens with quality resources and facilities; to enhance citizens' sense of fulfillment with all-round health protection; to promote healthy behaviors with good lifestyles; and to create a blue sky and clean land with effective environmental management.
In 2021, Qingdao was re-elected as a national civilized city, passed the review of national health city, and was ranked among the top ten cities of good living in China and 10 happiest city in China in 2020, which demonstrates the cohesion and brand influence of the city keep improving. Deputy Mayor Luan Xin said that Qingdao municipal government will continue to adhere to the development principle of health first, accelerate in building healthy Qingdao, improve people's health and lay a solid health foundation for building a modern international metropolis.
