“Empower Youth for Health” Youth Health Speech Contest and Training Camp launched

On the morning of May 22, the Youth Health Speech Contest, jointly organized by the Organizing Committee of Global Health Forum of Boao Forum for Asia and Peking University, was launched with a training camp opening ceremony.

 

20 contestants advanced to the next round, and will go through a 2-day intensive training. Then 8 will be selected into the final round, which will be presented in the form of Youth Health Salon at the 2nd Global Health Forum of Boao Forum for Asia on June 3.

 

At the opening ceremony, Luo Xiaoqin, Deputy Director of the Organizing Committee, gave an online speech. She said that Peking University, as home to the youth pioneers of the era, represents China's excellent youth spirit. The contemporary Chinese youth, born in a prosperous era and shouldering a weighty responsibility, is a generation that keeps pace with the time. The contest aims to make young people become the inheritors of health concepts, the disseminators of health knowledge, the practitioners of healthy life and the leaders of health industry. She stressed that the health of youth is related to the future of the country and the nation, and "Health beyond Health" should start with the youth. The GHF organizing committee is willing to join hands with Peking University to pay attention to youth health, promote the development of public health cause, and create a healthy and bright future together.

Professor Zheng Zhijie, Director of the Department of Global Hygiene of School of Public Health of Peking University, Zhao Lin, Associate Professor of the School of Broadcasting and Hosting Arts, Communication University of China, Weng Jia, Director of Broadcasting and Hosting, College of Broadcasting and Hosting Arts, Communication University of China, Xu Jing, Professor of the School of Journalism and Communication, Peking University, and Chang Chun, Professor of the Department of Social Medicine and Health Education, School of Public Health, Peking University, attended the launch and opening ceremony of the contest as judges.
