On the morning of June 1, Yu Mengsun, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and member of the first batch of academic departments of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, delivered a speech at Chinese Medicine Health Forum of the second Global Health Forum of Boao Forum for Asia.

Yu Mengsun said that TCM is a medicine that serves the people with a holistic worldview of the unity of nature and human. The worldview of TCM is holistic and at the same time, the development of TCM lies in two ways to serve the 1.4 billion people.

The holistic worldview of the unity of nature and human is to be combined with Qian Xuesen's systematic scientific worldview to develop into a theory of TCM that can be both known and understood within the framework of holism and in line with systematic thinking.

To serve the people should be combined with the solutions to the four major problems of the health of 1.4 billion peoplef at present, which is the systematic project of TCM modernization in the new era. The theory of Chinese medicine needs to be developed, and the service model needs to be changed. It is necessary to transform from a model based on “one-on-one” customized service to a model based on solving“common problems”, which is "gradually opening up in a large scale."

To carry out the the systematic project of TCM modernization in the new era, or gradually opening in a large scale, depends on four major projects. First is the project of spiritual civilization and the orderliness of right brain into the "heart" through the five senses. The second is the project of healthy diet and the homology of food and medicine into the internal through the spleen and stomach. Third is the project of the environmental health to the external through the lungs and body surface. Fourth is the equipment project on ordered life information field project that refers to the influence of the human meridian and blood circulation through the body’s external “field”and to activate people’s “vigor”.
