Leaders of Chongqing government met with VIPs of the second Asia-Europe Cooperation Dialogue

On December 1, Chen Min’er, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of the Chongqing Municipal Committee, met with VIPs of the second Asia-Europe Cooperation Dialogue, including Ban Ki-moon, Chairman of Boao Forum for Asia, Zhou Xiaochuan, Vice Chairman of Boao Forum for Asia, Li Baodong, Secretary-General of Boao Forum for Asia, Esko Aho, former Prime Minister of Finland, Liu Lihua, Deputy Director of the Economic Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), and Paolo Borzatta, Senior Partner of the European House – Ambrosetti. Tang Liangzhi, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Chongqing, and Wang Jiong, Chairman of the Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, also attended the meeting.

 

Chen Min’er welcomed the guests to attend the Second Asia-Europe Cooperation Dialogue and introduced the economic and social development of Chongqing and its role in the national regional development and opening-up map. He said that the conference is themed on “Concerted Action for Common Development in the New Era”, which echoes the development strategy of Chongqing, and provides an important opportunity for the city to engage in the intercontinental communication and cooperation between Asia and Europe. Chongqing will build on the outcomes of this event to forge a stronger partnership with the other parts of Asia and Europe.

 

The guests thanked the host of Chongqing for the thoughtful arrangements provided for conference and expressed their willingness to deepen the understanding of Chongqing among Asian and European countries, promote Chongqing's opening-up cooperation and achieve win-win development through the second Asia-Europe Cooperation Dialogue.
