The second Asia-Europe Cooperation Dialogue of Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) will be held in Chongqing, China from December 1-3. More than 500 delegates from the political, business and academic circles of Asia and Europe are expected to participate, including Ban Ki-moon, BFA Chairman and former Secretary-General of the United Nations, Zhou Xiaochuan, BFA Vice Chairman and former Governor of the People's Bank of China, Esko Aho, former Prime Minister of Finland, Li Baodong, BFA Secretary General, Marchenko, former Governor of the Central Bank of Kazakhstan, Chen Feng, Chairman of HNA Group, and Paolo Borzatta, Senior partner of the European House-Ambrosetti.

The Asia-Europe Cooperation Dialogue is initiated jointly by Boao Forum for Asia and European House-Ambrosetti, and dedicated to promoting comprehensive, in-depth and high-quality cooperation between Asia and Europe. It is of great practical significance to organize the second Dialogue in Chongqing, China. As a firm supporter and defender of globalization, free trade, multilateralism and an open global economy, Boao Forum for Asia has always been committed to opposing protectionism and unilateralism, and in recent years, it has held a series of international conferences in France, Italy, Philippines, Cambodia, Laos, Mongolia, Vietnam, Japan, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates to build consensus and and be the action of multilateralism and international cooperation. This Asia-Europe cooperation dialogue is exactly a Boao Action.

The two continents, Asia and Europe, account for 60% of the world's population and half of the global economy, and the vast majority of countries are both beneficiaries and firm supporters of globalization and multilateralism, with broad consensus and common interests in opposing protectionism and unilateralism. On such a major issue concerning the future of mankind, "open or closed? Cooperation or confrontation?",  Asia and Europe have chosen openness and cooperation.

There is a deep historical origin in Asia-Europe economic and trade relations, especially for the ancient Silk Road which is the most representative. The "One Belt and One Road", which is a Chinese initiative and is to be "discussed, built and shared" by all countries, provides a new framework and a new platform for Asia-Europe cooperation. The "Belt and Road" advocates the spirit of silk, and promotes common development with common action, which will help the majority of developing countries along have a properous future. Its hidden market opportunities are a precious external motivation for the gloomy economy in Europe that the European countries do not want to miss.

Asia-Europe cooperation is both realistic and future-oriented. Science and technology innovation is the frontier of Asia-Europe cooperation. Innovation is no longer a closed-door research and should be open and cooperative. Asia-Europe cooperation can accelerate the next round of scientific and technological revolution, and stimulate the economic growth.

The future of Asia-Europe cooperation is promising. It’s believed that the upcoming "Asia-Europe Cooperation Dialogue" of Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) will provide innovative ideas and solutions for Asia-Europe cooperation.
