On January 14, Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) held its 2020 Chinese New Year Banquet in Beijing. The Banquet was attended by more than 300 guests including Luo Zhaohui, Chinese Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, representatives from government ministries, forum partners and members, members of the media, and ambassadors from Cambodia, Russia, Algeria, Nepal, India, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Jordan, Italy and the European Union, and representatives of international organizations in China.
Boao Forum for Asia Secretary-General Li Baodong, Cambodian Ambassador to China Khek Cai Mealy Sysoda, EU Ambassador to China Nicolas Chapuis and UN Coordinator to China Nicholas Rosellini delivered speeches at the banquet respectively.
Secretary General Li Baodong briefly introduced the work of Boao Forum for Asia in the past year, thanked all parties for their strong support to the Forum, and expressed Boao Forum for Asia aims to provide a pluralistic and inclusive platform for all parties to promote the world development. Ambassador Sysoda, Ambassador Nicolas Chapuis and Mr. Nicholas Rosellini all spoke highly of the important role of Boao Forum for Asia in promoting dialogue and cooperation and economic and social development in Asia and beyond, and looked forward to the Forum's continued strong support for multilateralism, promoting international cooperation and enhancing people's well-being.
