The Organizing Committee of Global Health Forum of Boao Forum for Asia Visits the U.S. Embassy in China

On November 18, 2021, the Organizing Committee of Global Health Forum of Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) (hereinafter referred to as "the Organizing Committee") visited the U.S. Embassy in China. William Toperpe, Commercial Officer of the Commercial Department of the U.S. Embassy in Beijing, and Cao Shujuan, Senior Commercial Specialist, welcomed the organizing committee. The two sides had discussions on the cooperation in the 3rd Forum and the topics related to "elderly healthcare, low-carbon environmental protection, green building and sports rehabilitation".

 

The organizing committee introduced the first two conferences of Global Health Forum and said that Global Health Forum had always been committed to promoting international cooperation and innovative development in the field of health. Adhering to the service purpose of "3+365 days", the Forum would give full play to the integration of government, business, industry, academia and research resources, and continue to promote international exchanges and practical cooperation in the field of global public health.

 

The U.S. side highly recognized the Global Health Forum and Expo as an international professional exchange platform with industry authority and policy influence, and hoped to promote high-level leaders’ dialogue between China and the U.S., and promote in-depth exchanges and practical cooperation between China and the U.S. The U.S. side said that they could participate in the 3rd forum and expo by holding sub-forums of " High-level Closed Door Dialogue on China-US Elderly Care", "Low Carbon - Healthy Building" and setting up U.S. Hall at the expo.

 

The U.S. side also hope to strengthen the exchange and cooperation with China by making full use of the rich resources in the field of rehabilitation from universities in the U.S. and would introduce the U.S. rehabilitation education and training system to University of Health and Rehabilitation in Qingdao, and cooperate in the introduction of courses, talent exchange and project research and development in the fields of sports rehabilitation, rehabilitation management and rehabilitation services. At the same time, the U.S. side hoped to establish strategic cooperation with the Forum in healthy cities to help U.S. enterprises open up the Chinese market and promote international cooperation with local governments in the field of big health.

 

Finally, both sides reached a consensus and expressed their wish to maintain close contact and move to the next stage of cooperation as soon as possible, so as to build a high-level and multilateral dialogue platform between China and the U.S., promote international exchanges in the field of health between China and the U.S., implement health industry projects in China and the U.S., and contribute to deepening the friendship between China and the U.S. and building a community of human health together.
