On June 2, Mr. Ban Ki-Moon, Chairman of Boao forum for Asia attended the Expert Webinar of the 2nd conference of the GHF of BFA and delivered key remarks.

In his speech, Chairman Ban Ki-Moon said that we are amid one of the defining health crisis of our time and well on our way to slide into one of the most destructive economic crises since the Great Depression. In face of pandemic, countries around the world had adopted different response strategies. The complexity and severity of COVID-19 justifies the value and necessity of GHF, which provided an important platform for information-sharing, idea-inspiring and action-planning. "This is a time for science not for politics. Neither it's a time to divide us, but the moment to unite into a global response." he adds. World Health Organization should continue leading the global response to the pandemic. International community should jointly fight the pandemic and address global challenges like climate change.

Sustainable development and multilateral cooperation have always been high on the BFA agenda. Healthcare has been identified as one of the top five new frontiers by the BFA. BFA will stand together with the WHO to contribute to the global response to COVID-19.
