On August 19, Chairman Ban Ki-moon, who is attending the Ulaanbaatar Conference of BFA, was interviewed by Mongolian media at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia.

The theme of the Ulaanbaatar Conference of BFA is "Join Hands to Address Global Challenges and Promote Common Development", which is in line with the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, that is, to promote common prosperity through shared development, leaving no one behind, Ban said. All countries, large and small, should be guided by the purposes and principles of the UN Charter, pursue multilateralism, maintain economic globalization, and strengthen the solidarity and common action of the international community. This is especially true for major powers that have benefited greatly from multilateralism and globalization. International trade relations should be based on mutual benefits, mutual respect and mutual understanding. Nationalism, unilateralism and trade protectionism can only exacerbate the world's divisions.

Although Mongolia is a landlocked country and is affected by climate change, it is rich in natural resources and has a strong potential for economic growth. In recent years, Mongolia has achieved tremendous economic and social development, and its economic development level has approached that of the world's major economies. Mongolia should strengthen its connection with regional and world countries, make infrastructure development a priority area for development, develop extensive relations with other countries in the world while strengthening relations with neighboring countries such as China and Russia, enhance international cooperation in areas such as investment, education, culture and women's empowerment, and build global partnerships.
