On February 24, 2021, Zhang Yanou, Director of Medical and Life Sciences Industry of Department of International Trade, British Embassy and her delegation visited the Organizing Committee of Global Health Forum of Boao Forum for Asia (BFA). Luo Xiaoqin, deputy director of the organizing committee, welcomed them and the two sides had a cordially discussion.

Gu Xiaoyan introduced the background of Global Health Forum and the first forum，and the overall plan of the second forum and expo to the embassy delegation.

According to the British Embassy, by participating in the first conference and feedback from many parties, the British side regarded the Global Health Forum as a high-level, professional and authoritative international conference with great influence in the industry. They were very interested in maintaining close contact with the organizing committee of Global Health Forum of Boao Forum for Asia, and hoped to participate in the second forum and expo to better promote the cooperation between the Chinese and British governments and enterprises.

Regarding the second forum and expo, the British side expressed its concern about the expected scale of the conference, forms of participation from other countries, and the communication and invitation between the GHF organizing committee and the British government and enterprises. Meanwhile, the British side expressed its willingness to provide assistance with guest invitation, such as dignitaries, heads of health authorities, representatives of institutions and enterprises from the British side, and hoped to co-host with the organizing committee events like dialogues between China and Britain in the field of big health in order to promote in-depth exchanges and international cooperation between China and Britain.

During the visit, both sides conducted a full communication and exchange on the cooperation of the second forum, and defined the future cooperation direction and ways. Both sides believed that policy and information support can be provided for British enterprises to come to China, and Chinese enterprises to develop in the UK, through Sino-British dialogue sessions, presentation sessions or closed-door meetings during the conference, in order to give full play to the advantages of British enterprises in the field of innovation and Chinese enterprises in production and market, and to make full use of the advantages of both sides.

In the end, the organizing committee and the British Embassy reached a consensus to establish a long-term communication mechanism and cooperation strategy, to build a platform for communication, exchange and cooperation between China and the UK, so as to give full play to their respective resource advantages, facilitate the cooperation and project implementation between the two sides, promote the health policy and health industry of China and the UK, and contribute to the health cause of mankind.
