On the evening of June 2, 2021, the Second Global Health Forum of Boao Forum for Asia held the entrepreneurs' symposium at Qingdao Cosmopolitan Exposition. Zhou Xiaochuan, Vice Chairman of Boao Forum for Asia (BFA), spoke at the symposium, and Li Baodong, BFA Secretary-General presided over the meeting. Sun Jiye, Vice Governor of Shandong Province, Zhao Runtan, former Vice Chairman of Shandong Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, and other provincial and municipal officials attended the symposium. More than 40 representatives from forum partners, members and other well-known enterprises also attended the symposium.

Vice Chairman Zhou Xiaochuan pointed out that at present, the international community has been strengthening collective actions in epidemic prevention and control, promoting fair distribution of vaccines and recovering the economy. The Chinese government always puts people and lives at the first place, and has made national efforts to fight against the epidemic, and has done its best to work with other countries to prevent the epidemic. At the same time, China has introduced large-scale macroeconomic policies to help the enterprises resume production and promote the stability and smooth flow of global supply chains. Vice Chairman Zhou Xiaochuan recognized the important contributions made by the representatives of the business community to the global fight against the epidemic and economic recovery.

The leaders of eight enterprises, including China Chengtong Group, Merck Group, Boehringer Ingelheim, Qingdao Haier Group, Qingdao Ruiyuan Engineering Group Co.,Ltd., Qingdao Haizete Biotechnology Co., Ltd., Allmed Medical and Zhejiang Orient Gene Biotech Co., Ltd, made key speeches. The entrepreneurs believed that the construction of the health care system in the post-epidemic era, the rapid development of the health industry, the constant technological innovation, the strengthening of economic integration in Asia and the construction of the new dual-circulation development pattern in China have provided a vast space for the development and transformation of enterprises themselves. The entrepreneurs put forward their opinions and suggestions on intellectual property protection, trade facilitation and standard synergy. The entrepreneurs also expressed that they would continue to support global epidemic prevention and maintain the stability of the global industrial chain supply chain with practical actions.

In his concluding remarks, Secretary-General Li Baodong pointed out that there is enormous room for cooperation within Asia and the trend of enhancing connectivity will not change. China's economy has great resilience and potential, and the "Health China 2030" initiative contains huge business opportunities. Countries should cooperate and develop on the premise of mutual equality and respect, and should not politicize trade and business cooperation. Boao Forum for Asia will play its role as a platform in urging all parties to listen to the views and suggestions of entrepreneurs and providing good services for Forum members, partners and the business community.
