On January 14, 2020, the Boao Forum for Asia held the first Member Club Activity at the Kerry Hotel in Beijing of the year: ‘The Era of 5G: Opportunities and Challenges’.

The panelists are Liu Lihua, deputy director of the Economic Committee of 13th National Committee of the CPPCC, former deputy minister of China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology; Zhang Tongxu, president of China Mobile Communications Co., Ltd.; Zhao Bin, global vice president of Qualcomm; and Zhang Xi, partner of Boston Consulting Group. They shared professional insights and held dialogues with forum members on the influence of 5G technology on various industries around the world, the advantages and challenges of Chinese 5G development, and international cooperation on 5G technology.

In the welcome remarks, Secretary General Li Baodong pointed out that in the complicated world situation, the Boao Forum for Asia would never forget its mission, continue to consolidate positive energy for the development of Asia and the world, and provide more comprehensive services for our members and partners.

Li Sixuan, the host of China Central Radio and Television, hosted the activity and more than 130 forum members and representatives of partners attended it.
