As International Labour Day is approaching, Chairman Ban Ki-moon, Vice Chairman Zhou Xiaochuan, and Secretary General Li Baodong extended their holiday greetings on April 30 to members, partners and all friends of Boao Forum for Asia.

Ban Ki-moon, BFA Chairman, the 8th Secretary General of UN said in his letter, “as the International Labour Day is approaching, I would like to convey my cordial wishes to everyone of the BFA Family for a happy and peaceful festival as you all deserve. ”

This year’s Labour Day is of special meaning as the world is still combating with the spread of the most unprecedented Covid-19 pandemic globally. He took the opportunity to thank everyone for working hard amid the difficult time, providing support and help to people in need, and standing in unity and solidarity with the international community. “Indeed only by binding together can we prevail over the pandemic and restore the normal order of our life. This true spirit of solidarity and hard-working is exactly what the International Workers Day was designed for.” Chairman Ban said in the letter.

Vice Chairman Zhou Xiaochuan, who is also Chief Representative of China to BFA, extended his sincere holiday greetings to members, partners and all friends of the Boao Forum for Asia !

Since the beginning of the year 2020, the Covid-19 pandemic has been spreading all over the world, bringing tremendous pressure to the global economy. BFA family have been sharing weal and woes in confronting the common challenges posed by Covid-19. “We are confident that with solidarity and concerted efforts of the international community, we will eventually defeat the pandemic, recover the global economy and restore normal order of our lives.” Vice Chairman Zhou said in his letter.

Secretary General Li Baodong also sent his warmest regards to the BFA Family on behalf of the Secretariat. “Let us anticipate the conclusion of the pandemic and join efforts for a lively world as vivid as before”, Li said in the letter.
