Mr. Li Baodong, Secretary General of Boao Forum for Asia (BFA), joined the UN session “the SDGs Decade of Action and the Shifting Global Landscape: Challenges and Opportunities for the United Nations in China”, which was co-hosted by United Nations in China and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank on March 29th. Attendees from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Commerce of China, diplomatic corps as well as international organizations convened with SDGs advocate Prof. Jeffrey Sachs to discuss China’s remarkable economic and social progress.
Secretary General Li Baodong appreciated the pivotal role of the United Nations in advancing global sustainable development as well as China’s substantial contribution to the implementation of the SDGs. Mr. Li also noted that BFA stands committed to upholding multilateralism and the UN-centered international system. The Forum will strive relentlessly to build regional and international consensus in fostering a sustainable recovery and development.
