Global Health Forum of Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) has been the first high-profile international health conference since the launch of the Astana Declaration, and as a comprehensive platform for promoting the integration of politics, business, academia and research, high-end dialogue and practical cooperation, it is committed to building a flagship high-level comprehensive forum in the field of global health. In a keynote by the Director of the United Nations Development Programme in 2015, young people are important partners of implementing the sustainable development agenda in the international community, and youth participation and attention to youth issues are an important part of the agenda. Against this backdrop, the first Global Health Forum of Boao Forum for Asia organized the Health Forum for Youth to focus on youth health and encourage youth participation.

The first Youth Health Forum invited Dr. Margaret Chan, President of Global Health Forum of Boao Forum for Asia and the Emeritus Director-General of World Health Organization, Wang Longde, former Vice-Minister of Health and Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering and other key leaders of international organizations, top academic experts and young people from all over the world to discuss youth health issues and promote youth participation in global health. The youth representatives read the "Youth Participation in Global Health Initiative" with Dr. Margaret Chan. The Health Forum for Youth was highly recognized by the Boao Forum for Asia Secretariat and the Organizing Committee of Global Health Forum of Boao Forum for Asia.

During the 2^nd Global Health Forum in 2021, the Youth Health Salon deeply implements the spirit of the “Youth Participation in Global Health Initiative”, focusing on the two themes of "Youth as the Disseminator of Health Beyond Health" and "Youth as the Guardian of Health Beyond Health” to organize the Youth Speech Contest, so as to pay more attention to youth health and encourage youth participation. The Contest involved in more than 100 universities, hospitals and other related enterprises and institutions, and experts from national ministries, international organizations, well-known media and top universities at home and abroad were invited as judges to listen to the voices of young people and appreciate their youthful demeanor!
