The first conference of Global Health Forum of Boao Forum for Asia was grandly held from June 10 to 12, 2019. Focusing on health - a topic of common concern for all mankind, representatives of enterprises and institutions from 55 countries and regions across the world gathered in Qingdao, Shandong and shared views and pooled wisdom on "Universal Health Coverage", "Innovation for Health" and "Health in All Policies” among other issues.
It was a world-class event in the field of health. President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory message to the conference. Sun Chunlan, Vice Premier of the State Council, attended the conference and delivered a speech. Yasuo Fukuda, former Prime Minister of Japan, Jenny Shipley, former Prime Minister of New Zealand , Han Seung-soo, former Prime Minister of South Korean ,Li Baodong Secretary-General of BFA , and Margaret Chan, President of the Global Health Forum of BFA, were all presented the conference.
Qingdao Health Industry Cooperation Project Signing
On June 11, Mr. Li Baodong , the Secretary-General of Boao Forum for Asia, Mr. SUN Jiye , Deputy Governor of Shandong province, and Mr. MENG Fanli, Deputy Party Secretary and Mayor of Qingdao, attended the signing ceremony of Qingdao health industry cooperation project of the GHF.
A total of 25 cooperative agreements were signed, including 17 industrial investment projects, 5 strategic cooperation projects and 3 technical cooperation projects, covering high-end medical services, biomedicine, medical devices, health care and Traditional Chinese Medicine.
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Boao Forum for Asia and International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies
On June 11, Boao Forum for Asia and International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies signed a memorandum of understanding. Both parties will play their respective role to promote universal health coverage and achieve the goal of sustainable development.
The MOU was signed by Mr. LI Baodong , the Secretary-General of Boao Forum for Asia, and Mr. Elhadji Amadou Gueye SY, the Secretary-General of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
“The Youth Participation in Global Health Initiative" Issued by the Global Health Forum
On June 10, the forum released “The Youth Participation in Global Health Initiative” in the sub-forum 6 “Health in All Policies — Health Forum for Youth”. Dr. Magaret Chan -, the President of the Global Health Forum, read the highlights of the Initiative which calls on young people around the world to go beyond their national and cultural traditions and contribute their capacity, wisdom and vitality to shoulder the responsibility of global healthy development and build a healthy and sustainable world.
University of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences was Founded in Qingdao, Shandong
On June 11, the opening ceremony of University of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences in Shandong province was held during the GHF. Mr. LIU Jiayi , the Secretary of CPC Shandong Provincial Committee, Mr. MA Xiaowei MA, the Director of National Health Commission, Ms. ZHANG Haidi -, the President of China Disabled Persons’ Federation, Mr. WANG Qingxian -, the member of the Standing Committee of CPC Shandong Provincial Committee, and Secretary of CPC Qingdao, and Dr. Magaret Chan -, the President of the GHF jointly unveiled the logo of University of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences.
Innovative Project Roadshow Presentation
During the first session, GHF held four roadshows of innovative projects and shared the achievements of 100 health innovation projects around the world with nearly 1,000 entrepreneurs, which played a positive role in promoting the transformation and upgrading of China’s health industry and social and economic development.
China-Russia Qingdao Memorandum of Understanding
The project of Bio-medicine Park in cooperation demonstration zone of Shanghai Cooperation Economic and Trade Organization(SCO) in Qingdao was launched during the Global Health Forum.
